Harvey is also the Vice Chair of the Mayor of London's Skills and Employment Board, responsible for the adult skills strategy in London, and a director of Gateway to London, the inward investment agency for the Thames Gateway. Harvey is the former Chairman of Man Group plc, the London-based FTSE 100 fund manager and futures broker. He retired from the Man Board in November 2007, having been appointed Chairman in March 2000 and previously Chief Executive in 1990. He joined Man in 1980 from Chase Manhattan Bank. Harvey is an active philanthropist supporting a range of causes around deprivation, education, and divided communities. He is Chairman of the East London Business Alliance, a partnership of substantial businesses engaged in the social and economic regeneration of East London. He is a founding donor and trustee of New Philanthropy Capital, a research based charity which gives guidance and advice to donors; a trustee of Charity Technology Trust, which is focused on helping the charitable sector more effectively use information technology; a business governor of Tower Hamlets College, a further education institution; and a trustee of the Royal Anniversary Trust which operates the Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education.

Patrick started his career in accounting and became a Partner in Deloitte & Touche when he was 28. He was responsible for the de-listing and privatisation of The Really Useful Group in 1990 and was chairman and chief executive of the company between 1990 and 1997. During this time, the company won the Queen's Award for Export Achievement and enjoyed a period of record growth in earnings and capital value. He was also Andrew Lloyd Webber's business manager between 1990 and 1996. He is Chairman of Hat Trick Productions, one of the UK's leading television production companies, and Stage Three Music. He was also a major shareholder in and chairman of 19 Entertainment, the company responsible for Annie Lennox, the Spice Girls, S Club 7 and television programmes, such as Pop Idol and American Idol, until its sale in 2005. He is chairman of ID Distribution, the international television sales company.

Jon is Managing Partner of Alchemy, a UK-based private equity firm, which has invested £1.9 billion of equity with an emphasis on dealing with troubled companies. It recently completed the raising of a £300m European special opportunities fund. He is a Chartered Accountant, a CF and Fellow of the Society of Turnaround Professionals. He previously worked with Citicorp Venture Capital in New York and London, Permira and Apax. He has been a director of five public companies, numerous private companies and is currently a director of the US-based Irvin parachute business, the Cedar IT business, Sylvan (timber) and Ashmore Group a major investor in emerging market debt.

Daniel has overall responsibility for NESTA's effectiveness as an organisation, including outcome and performance measures, business planning and reporting, HR strategy, and risk management. He manages NESTA's finance, HR, IT, legal and facilities teams. He is also responsible for the management of NESTA's £300 million endowment. Most recently, Daniel was Head of Finance Strategy and Planning at the UK Department for Transport, where he oversaw the department's long-term budgets and financial plans. Prior to that, he spent ten years at HM Treasury working on a wide range of policy issues, including heading the teams supporting two independent reviews of the financial services sector. He was also responsible for the Treasury's public expenditure control system. Daniel has spent time on secondment to the voluntary and private sectors: he was Finance and Fundraising Director of a community regeneration project and worked for Gartmore Investment Management.
